Wholesale Produce Supply has initiated a recall for their pre-cut cantaloupe due to concerns about possible listeriosis, as noted in an FDA announcement. The affected melons were distributed to vendors in Nebraska, North Dakota, and Wisconsin, and were available at supermarkets in these regions, packaged in clear plastic clamshell containers, branded as either “Harvest Cuts” or “Fresh & Finest.” These cantaloupes could have been sold individually or included in a mixed fruit assortment.
To verify if your food is part of the recall, refer to the chart below, which details product names, UPC codes, and lot numbers.

As of now, there have been no reported illnesses related to this recall. Listeriosis can lead to symptoms such as high fever, intense headaches, muscle rigidity, vomiting, stomach discomfort, and diarrhea. For pregnant individuals, it can result in miscarriage or stillbirth, and for children, the elderly, and those with compromised immune systems, it can be fatal.
If you possess the recalled cantaloupe, you may return it to the store for a refund or get in touch with Steve Foster, the vice president of food safety and quality at Wholesale Produce Supply, by calling 612-378-2025 or via email at SFOSTER@WPSFRESH.COM.
